Manual for DD, spirited drives, weekend car. SMG for the track.

For me I know my driving skill isn't as good as it needs to be for me to operate the traditional manual at the level I think track driving requires I'd rather have the SMG so I don't have to take my hands off the wheel.

but alas I drive a manual because it is more reliable and this car is going to spend 99% of its time on the street.

I'd say decent for a 20 year old car that has crossed the Pacific and the US of A, the owner said it was making 800 hp on race gas when it got here and they had to detune it to about 600 to run on our gas.

I'll probably do a photo dump thread once I put her away for the winter. I literally will drive this car until either I die or the world ends, I don't think there is a car out there that ticks all of the boxes like an E46 M3 does.

Super jealous of your Phoenix Yellow slick-top I wanted one of those in the worst way but this car was too good to pass up.

For my needs the E46M is the best all-rounder. I really like my E90M and E36M but if it came down to it I'd sell that to keep the E46. That and there's an actual dipstick so I can check and see the oil supply. I hate having to depend on a stupid sensor and blips on the dashboard.

As much as I worship the S54 (I seriously love this engine) if it ever does go, I will look into replacing it with the S65 because the sound those make is incredible.

The S65 is amazing, from what I have read on potential swaps the S62 would be a whole lot easier to fit in there.

Thank you this car will be modified as well but it will be to improve small things and bulletproof issues (VANOS and rear subframe).

As of right now this winter I'll be saving up so I can buy a cat back system for Status Gruppe Tuning because I'd like the sound to be a little less raspy and a little louder.

This is the goal result:
